Lacrisert for Dry Eyes

:: Posted by nextdayoptical on 12-08-2011

I tried these Lacriserts for dry eyes for about a week. They are small nuggets that release a moisture agent and place on the underside of your bottom eyelids. You really don’t feel them unless you think about it. If you can tolerate the mild blurring, you can use them during the day. I could not stand looking though mild blurring so I tried them at night while asleep. In the morning I just remove and discard them before I go to work. It has worked incredibly well for me. My eyes stay comfortable for 1-2 days and then they dry again.  Most people have never heard of Lacrisert. I think Restasis has worked well for many patients, and that’s what we prescribe first. If you have tried many treatments for dry eyes or want something to supplement Restasis, you should try Lacrisert. We have samples if you would like to come for an eye exam.

Check out this Youtube of inserting and removing Lacrisert.

Digital lenses

:: Posted by nextdayoptical on 11-15-2011

Tired of the “swimmy” feeling progressives can give to you? Now there is a new technology to help alleviate your symptoms. Instead of the old grind and polish on lenses, Digital lenses use the latest computer-driven equipment. Digital backside progressive lenses are better than regular no line bifocals in many ways. You get a wider field of view so scanning a newspaper or computer is more natural. Don’t be fooled by some opticals that sell “Digital like” lenses. These machines are popping up in optical trade shows using a polymer and mold system. They really don’t compare to the lenses run through software that will digitally correct thousands of different spots on a lens. Now, more of the lens will have your eyeglass prescription. It not only works for bifocals, but also single vision lenses. Anyone with a high prescription would benefit.
